The Setlist this week has an EP release show, summer concert series, a show in Remer for the first time, and an opportunity for the resilient Bemidji community to (hopefully) take their minds off last weekend's storm.
This week's 2nd St. Stage artist is Walking Phoenix, an up-and-coming alt-rock band from the Fargo-Moorhead area. Their sound draws from blues rock, indie and alt-country. The Thursday evening outdoor series in downtown Park Rapids begins at 6 p.m.
On Friday, folk-rock band Forge North are playing near Remer at Deer Haven on Thunder Lake. They are led by singer-songwriter Charley Wagner, whose songs are inspired by the landscapes of Northern Minnesota. Their full band features pedal steel, bass, guitar and keys. Music begins at 5 p.m.
In Grand Rapids, local musician Ditty Wish is celebrating the release of her debut EP at Klockow Brewing on Friday. One the busiest performers in the area, the Songs About Home EP showcases her personal storytelling and singer-songwriter style. Music begins at 6 p.m.
As Bemidji residents are still recovering from the destructive storm that tore through the city last Friday, an opportunity for some live music therapy is the Oxbows at Bemidji Brewing. The string band quartet of Eric Carlson, Sawyer Corcoran, Erika Molk and Dan Schnackenberg, are back playing shows after taking the winter off. Their brewery show is Saturday evening at 7 p.m.
