This week's Setlist has a music school benefit, an album release show, a new duo featuring a familiar face and more. Read on for all the details on four concerts of note around the area this week. Get out there and support our local music scene!

Sawtooth Witch is an acoustic dance rock duo of Pat "Doc" Daugherty (guitar/vocals) and Haley Fleming (violin/vocals). The pair are playing Sampaguita in Aitkin this Friday at 6 p.m. Doughtery is a fellow community radio host and Minnesota music supporter at KFAI in Minneapolis. He and Fleming formerly released music as theyself.

Alt-rock singer-songwriter Mary Bue recently released a new album called The Wildness of Living & Dying, and she is celebrating with an album release show at Sacred Heart Music Center in Duluth. Music begins at 7:30 p.m. Friday night with folk musician Gaelynn Lea. The new album is another showcase of Bue's intimate and intense songwriting.

The pair play a mix of Americana and blues, with their show beginning at 6 p.m. Saturday at Rapids Brewing.

In Bemidji, Headwaters Music & Arts is hosting a benefit show for their scholarship program this Saturday at 6 p.m. Jam-funk group Kitchi Boogie will headline, featuring Shane Corning and Jason Dowell (guitar/vocals), Papa Steve Ross (bass) and Doug Quance (drums/vocals). Malachy started his radio career in 2017 at a college radio station, where he played weird music in the middle of the night to possibly no one. On a good night maybe his parents were listening. Nonetheless, he was hooked on public radio and is still doing it today.

He joined Northern Community Radio in 2022, where he gets to share his passion for local music as Producer of Minnesota Mixtape, an all Minnesota music show airing Fridays at 10 a.m. and Saturdays at 3 p.m. You can also find him hosting Headwaters and curating The Setlist.
