Sawtooth Witch is an acoustic dance rock duo of Pat "Doc" Daugherty (guitar/vocals) and Haley Fleming (violin/vocals). The pair are playing Sampaguita in Aitkin this Friday at 6 p.m. Doughtery is a fellow community radio host and Minnesota music supporter at KFAI in Minneapolis. He and Fleming formerly released music as theyself.
Alt-rock singer-songwriter Mary Bue recently released a new album called The Wildness of Living & Dying, and she is celebrating with an album release show at Sacred Heart Music Center in Duluth. Music begins at 7:30 p.m. Friday night with folk musician Gaelynn Lea. The new album is another showcase of Bue's intimate and intense songwriting.

Blues troubadour Lonesome Dan Kase has been a regular solo visitor to Grand Rapids. This weekend he returns as one half of the duo Kismet Rendezvous alongside singer and guitarist Dawn Tanner. The pair play a mix of Americana and blues, with their show beginning at 6 p.m. Saturday at Rapids Brewing.
In Bemidji, Headwaters Music & Arts is hosting a benefit show for their scholarship program this Saturday at 6 p.m. Jam-funk group Kitchi Boogie will headline, featuring Shane Corning and Jason Dowell (guitar/vocals), Papa Steve Ross (bass) and Doug Quance (drums/vocals). The Headwaters Adult Rock Band, made up of students at the school, will be the opening act.
