Headliners Spoon play to a packed crowd at Grand Rapids Riverfest on Sept. 7, 2024.

On a gorgeous September day, thousands gathered for a day of excellent music by the river at Grand Rapids Riverfest. Here's a look back at the event through the eyes of our photographers.

GRAND RAPIDS — Organizing a music festival in small town Minnesota is a big undertaking for KAXE, the City of Grand Rapids and its business supporters.

But it's all worth it when thousands of music lovers descend on the banks of the Mississippi River to take in the incredible lineup, excellent local vendors and family activities that Grand Rapids Riverfest has become known for.

2024 was no exception, and the beautiful early September weather made it all the more enjoyable to spend a day on the river.

Headliner Spoon capped off spectacular performances by Shakey Graves, Sarah Jarosz, S.G. Goodman and Corey Medina & Brothers.

These photos from the excellent photographers Lorie Shaull and Jordan Weis capture the passion of the musicians, the excitement of the crowds and the atmosphere of an event to remember.
