This Friday is Long Lake Conservation Center's Third Annual Nature Rocks fundraising concert with music from The Kentucky Headhunters, Pert Near Sandstone and Whiskey River.
The event will raise funds for area youths to attend outdoor school and summer camps at the center. It begins at 4:30 p.m. at the Aitkin County Fairgrounds.
Elsewhere in Aitkin, theyself and Maya Elena will be at Sampaguita at 7 p.m. Self-described as a "panic attack you can dance to," theyself is the eclectic musical project of Pat "Doc" Dougherty. Elena is an indie-folk singer who also leads the band Illusion Valley.
KBXE and Bemidji Brewing are hosting the Bemidji Block Party this Saturday starting at 2 p.m. Kicking off the music will be the heartfelt storytelling and soaring harmonies of all-female bluegrass group The Foxgloves. Then, jazz and blues swing combo Davina and The Vagabonds will take the stage, fresh off the release of their new album, Shoot for the Moon. Closing out the night will be DERECHO Rhythm Section, a dance-funk group from Duluth led by Alan Sparhawk of Low.
The Northeast Timberland Band is a Duluth-based trio with three-part harmonies who released their latest album, Blue Moon, in 2023. The group will be at Rapids Brewing Co. this Saturday at 6 p.m.
