CARLTON — The Minnesota Department of Transportation will host an open house about the ongoing highways 45/210 corridor study Thursday, March 26, in Carlton.
The 5:30 p.m. meeting at the Carlton Fire and Ambulance building will include information about the study and plans for two resurfacing projects tentatively set for 2035.
A brief presentation is planned for 5:45 p.m. MnDOT staff will be available to answer questions and gather public feedback.
The agency is looking at Highway 45 from Interstate 35 south to Carlton and Highway 210 from east of County Road 61 to Sixth Street North, including the Interstate 35/Highway 45 interchange, nearby intersections and access points.
Key issues include vehicle speeds, pedestrian crossings, trails, freight movement and interchange design.
The study will continue through late 2026.
Businesses and freight users are also invited to stop by 4:30-5:30 p.m. to share how they use the corridor.
Those who cannot attend the open house can use MnDOT's comment map to identify issues and opportunities for improvement.
