The Ely Nordic Wolves were third at the state meet in Biwabik on Feb. 12, 2026.

The Ely boys Nordic ski team finished third at the state meet Feb. 12, 2026, and Brainerd senior Annelise Baird took fourth.

BIWABIK — The Ely boys Nordic ski team finished third and Brainerd skier Annelise Baird fourth at the state championships Thursday, Feb. 12, at Giants Ridge in Biwabik.

The Wolves finished just one point behind second-place Orono/Delano with 341.

Junior Aksel Skustad led the way with a 15th-place finish, followed by sophomore Wyatt Devine in 19th and junior Oliver Hohenstein in 27th. Also contributing points were sprint duo junior George Sponho and senior Otto Devine, who finished 14th.

Brainerd's Baird, a senior, improved on her 2025 performance, when she took seventh.
