CHISHOLM — An all-way stop will become permanent at a prominent intersection in the city of Chisholm beginning Wednesday, Jan. 7.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation announced it will change the traffic control at the intersection of Highway 73/Lake Street and Third Avenue Northwest. The existing stoplight will be changed to a flashing red, and stop signs will be installed to make the intersection an all-way stop.
The intersection was previously an all-way stop during the summer of 2024. MnDOT reported it received positive feedback about the change and is moving forward to make it permanent.
In case of inclement weather, work will occur on Thursday. The signal heads will be removed at a later date, and the remaining equipment will be removed during a construction project scheduled for 2027.
