MnDOT began a corridor study for Highway 73 in Chisholm in summer 2024.

The agency has been studying a 1-mile stretch starting from Highway 169 and will share its findings and suggestions.

CHISHOLM — The Minnesota Department of Transportation will share its plans for the Highway 73 corridor in Chisholm on Wednesday, Dec. 3.

The agency has been studying the 1-mile stretch of highway from Highway 169 to the intersection of West Lake Street and Third Avenue.

At the Dec. 3 meeting, MnDOT will review the existing condition findings, present a proposed final layout and answer questions and take feedback.

The meeting is open to the public and will be 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Chisholm Senior Citizens building.

A recent MnDOT survey found most of the over 200 respondents would like to see safety and traffic flow improvements on the stretch.

Respondents felt relatively safe driving the corridor, but only moderately safe walking or biking. However, most said they wouldn't change their travel habits if bike and pedestrian safety were improved.
