FLOODWOOD — The Floodwood School Board is accepting applications to fill a vacant seat until 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10.
Board Clerk Corinne "Cory" Suonvieri resigned at the Aug. 18 meeting. The board will appoint someone to fill the remainder of her term, starting Oct. 15 and continuing through 2026.
Applications for those interested, as well as additional information on the qualifications and characteristics of board members, are on the district’s website.
Applicants must be at least 21 years old, an eligible voter and have lived in the school district for at least 30 days.
Interviews will take place during a special meeting 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 15. A candidate will be selected at that meeting.
The Bemidji Planning Commission, a largely citizen body, passed off the interim use permit to the board without recommendations after months of discussion. It passed Feb. 9, 2026, on a 5-1 vote.
