FLOODWOOD — The Floodwood School Board is accepting applications to fill a vacant seat until 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10.
Board Clerk Corinne "Cory" Suonvieri resigned at the Aug. 18 meeting. The board will appoint someone to fill the remainder of her term, starting Oct. 15 and continuing through 2026.
Applications for those interested, as well as additional information on the qualifications and characteristics of board members, are on the district’s website.
Applicants must be at least 21 years old, an eligible voter and have lived in the school district for at least 30 days.
Interviews will take place during a special meeting 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 15. A candidate will be selected at that meeting.
Plus: An Orr man was charged with two felonies for shooting a firefighting plane; and the Bemidji Chamber of Commerce recognized area businesses at its annual luncheon almost a year after the derecho.
