DULUTH — The National Weather Service in Duluth issued a frost advisory for a portion of northeastern Minnesota for the early morning of Tuesday, Aug. 26.
The weather service stated temperatures could reach as low as 34 degrees between 3-9 a.m., resulting in frost formation that could harm or kill sensitive outdoor vegetation.
The advisory applies for central and north St. Louis, northern Cook and Lake counties, including the cities of Ely, Isabella and Hibbing and the tribal lands of the Bois Forte Band of Chippewa, including Lake Vermilion and the Nett Lake areas. It also includes Voyageurs National Park and the entire Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness.
Temperatures dipped into the mid-30s on Monday morning as well. A temp of 35 degrees was reported in Effie, Ash Lake and Hog Creek, while several locations reported 36 degrees.
