Midco crews work to restore service in the Bemidji area following a June 21, 2025, storm with hurricane-force winds.

The internet and cable provider said the Bemidji derecho caused damage in hundreds of locations, and crews worked long hours to restore service.

BEMIDJI — Internet provider Midco reported Tuesday, July 1, that the vast majority of its system is back online following the June 21 Bemidji storm.

Midco teams identified over 300 damage locations and say as commercial power is restored, smaller, isolated damages to its plant are being repaired.

“The Midco family has provided outstanding support ever since the storm hit, with 12-15 additional team members and 4-5 extra bucket trucks in Bemidji each day assisting with restoration efforts,” said Cole Mack, Midco vice president of field engineering and construction, in a news release.

“Crews have been working 12- to 14-hour shifts in small teams of 2-4, moving block by block to make repairs and ensure a seamless and complete cleanup.”

The company said the Midco Foundation donated $7,000 to the American Red Cross to assist recovery efforts in Bemidji and Jamestown, North Dakota.
