GRAND RAPIDS — Itasca County celebrated Pride Month with a festival at the Old Central School grounds on Sunday, June 22.

The festival, organized by the nonprofit Itasca Pride, began with a free pancake breakfast at 10 a.m. and closed at 6 p.m. with a free community dinner and interfaith service at Community Presbyterian Church.

It featured food trucks, kids activities, live music, two drag shows and more than 30 vendors.

Those who attended were able to step inside the Old Central School building and look at a fine art gallery with pieces by local LGBTQ+ artists. The Minnesota Historical Society had a booth with an interactive map of LGBTQ+ histories throughout the state.
