HUBBARD — Construction on Highway 87 south of Park Rapids will begin Monday, May 19, in Hubbard County.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation reported crews are reconstructing Highway 87 from Highway 71 to east of Hubbard. The project will include adding curb and gutter in Hubbard and a box culvert replacement at Long Lake.
Later this summer, resurfacing and culvert replacements will take place on Hubbard County Road 13 to Highway 64. The project is expected to begin in August.
Motorists will be detoured through Park Rapids on highways 71 and 34 and Hubbard County Road 20 for the first phase of the project.
