FAIRBANKS — A second large wildfire has grown to 800 acres in St. Louis County, according to the Superior National Forest.
The Jenkins Creek Fire is off Town Line Road near Highway 110, just west of Fairbanks, according a Monday, May 12, post from the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office. It's around nine miles northwest of the Camp House Fire.
SNF said steady winds and dry conditions continue to contribute to fire growth.
All residents within a 3-mile radius of Basset Lake must evacuate, according to a PBS WARN alert. Evacuate east out of the area. The Fredenberg Community Center is a temporary evacuation collection point.

The Forest is evacuating the Cadotte Lake Campground east of the fire as a precaution because of the amount of time it takes to notify and move campers. The Forest said the fire had "rapidly grown to several hundred acres in size."
The Jenkins Creek Fire had burned 100 acres of timber and shrub as of 1:30 p.m., according to wildfire mapping service Watch Duty. The website had reported the fire at 7 acres just half an hour earlier.
One structure has been engulfed in flames.
The sheriff's office said nearby residents should remain alert.
