Hubbard County motorists may soon run into delays as the Department of Transportation preps for road construction.
MnDOT reports crews will begin clearing trees and vegetation within the state right of way on Highway 87 on a 4.6-mile stretch between Highway 71 and Hubbard.
Drivers may experience slow-moving equipment and potential shoulder and lane closures between Jan. 13 and early February.
Residents and property owners are reminded to remove any remaining right-of-way encroachments, such as fences, signs or planters, which could be damaged or removed by the contractor.
The right-of-way work this winter is in advance of a resurfacing project and culvert replacement at Long Lake Dam, set to begin in May.
More information about the project is available on MnDOT's website.
