BEMIDJI — Dan Jourdain is resuming the campaign trail in his bid for the Bemidji mayoral race.
Jourdain initially announced earlier in September that he would stop campaigning for personal reasons, but he said an unexpected drive of support is motivating him to continue campaigning through Election Day.
“We had a lot more people that reached out in a positive way, just to say, ‘We’re going to support you no matter what and if there’s anything we can do to help you more let me know,’ and just having that support of more people come out of places I’ve never known about,” Jourdain said.
Jourdain has about two years of local government experience, serving from 2020-2022 as the Bemidji City Council’s at-large member. He will appear on ballots alongside first-term incumbent Mayor Jorge Prince in November’s general election.
