BEMIDJI — Beltrami Electric Cooperative will host its 83rd annual meeting Wednesday, Aug. 9, at the Marilyn Shutter Stage on the Beltrami County Fairgrounds.
Cooperative members are invited to attend, with registration starting at 4 p.m. and the business meeting scheduled for 5 p.m.
Agenda items include the election of districts 2, 4 and 6 director candidates, and reports from President and CEO Jared Echternach and director of finance and corporate services Arlene Hogquist.
Kay Mack, Beltrami Electric Trust board president, will give a report on Operation Round Up and the cooperative’s 2023 Youth Tour delegate Elena Harmsen is also listed as an agenda item.
Beltrami Electric’s Night at the Fair will feature many family-friendly events, including a free concert in the grandstand by The Waddington Brothers.
The band, according to a release, is “a versatile acoustic group from Southwestern North Dakota with a musical style that ranges from hard driving bluegrass to the mellow sound and dynamic western harmonies reminiscent of Bob Nolan and The Sons of the Pioneers.”
Parking is free Wednesday, and co-op members who register for the meeting will receive $10 in “Food Bucks” to use at participating food vendors that night until 8 p.m.
Touchstone Energy’s mascots, LED Lucy and Solar Sam, will be there to meet and greet guests.
Beltrami Electric line workers will offer line truck bucket rides and high-voltage safety demonstrations, and they will explode at least one hotdog.
