Authorities searching Friday for missing 23-year-old Red Lake man

Gus Ka Ja Redeagle, 23, was reporting missing from Red Lake.

RED LAKE — Authorities in Red Lake asked for public assistance in locating a 23-year-old man last seen on July 17.

According to a release from the Red Lake Police Department, Gus Ka Ja Redeagle was last seen in the Walking Shield housing area and State Highway 89. Redeagle is described as a Native American man and was last seen wearing a navy blue shirt, black pants or shorts and black shoes.

The release stated many family members and volunteers have contributed to the search for Redeagle. On Friday, July 28, Red Lake Police announced another search in the Walking Shield, Midlands and Highway 89 areas beginning at 8 a.m.

Residents in the area are asked to keep their dogs leashed or inside.

The Red Lake and Ponemah fire departments have assisted Red Lake law enforcement with the search effort, using all-terrain vehicles and drones to search a large area, as well as K9 Search and Rescue.
