BEMIDJI — The Oak Lake rest area east of Erskine will be under construction beginning Monday, May 1.
There will be a temporary closure of the plaza, including the restrooms, in late June. The Minnesota Department of Transportation reported there will not be any impact to motorists on Highway 2.
The contractor for the $2.29 million project is KGM Contractors Inc., according to MnDOT. The project will create improved pedestrian accessibility and a longer lasting driving surface. It is estimated to be complete by mid-August, weather permitting.
