A protester demonstrates in front of a Planned Parenthood, Tuesday, July 12, 2022, in Saint Paul, Minn. A court ruling that struck down most of Minnesota's restrictions on abortion as unconstitutional will speed the process for clinics and patients, though providers are still studying all the implications of how the landscape will change as a result.

"The right of privacy under our Constitution protects not simply the right to an abortion but rather it protects the woman's decision to abort; any legislation infringing on the decision-making process, then, violates this fundamental right" according to Doe v. Gomez in 1995 and U of MN Law Professor Jill Hasday

In the wake of last month's U.S. Supreme Court Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization decision, we wanted to learn more about what exactly the laws are in MN.

Greta Kaul joined us today to talk about her recent article "A Court Ruling Struck Down Most of MN's Abortion Restrictions This Month. What Abortion Laws Are On the Books".
