On our extended hour of the Thursday Morning Show Maggie Montgomery talks with Mary Mitchell from the Bemidji Community Food Shelf. Mary talks about the many changes the Food Shelf has had to make during the COVID-19 pandemic. Customers are no longer allowed to go into the Food Shelf but wait in their vehicles for volunteers or staff to bring out pre-packed boxes.
Even with the increase in the number of people who are eligible to recieve assistance and the reduction in avaiable food, Mary stays upbeat and positive. Though food donations are not being accepted at this time monetary donations are in need. You can go on line at bcfsmn.org or on Facebook.
