New Monthly Segment on the Tuesday Morning Show with Northern Waters Land Trust

Northern Waters Land Trust is a non-profit conservation organization working to protect water quality and preserve environmentally sensitive lands and water resources. Formerly the Leech Lake Area Watershed Foundation, they serve the watersheds in Cass, Crow Wing, Hubbard and Aitkin Counties of Minnesota, and represents 2,235 lakes, 3,400 miles of rivers and streams, and nearly 4.2 million acres.

John Sumption and Annie Johnson from the NWLT join Heidi Holtan and John Latimer for the first conservation conversation to be airing monthly on the Tuesday Morning Show.  They talk about their organization, how they got started and who they represent.  NWLT helps property owners through Conservation Easements, an agreement that limits changes on landowner’s property, and Fee Title Acquisitions, a transaction by a landowner who elects to sell or donate land for the purpose of habitat protection and public use.  Heidi shares her story as a property owner with a Conservation Easement on her land.

John and Annie tell us about topics and guests planned  for the future months to come.  For more information go to northernwaterslandtrust.org.
