Kelsie LaSharr is a biologist for the DNR Wildlife Health Program. She joins Heidi and John on the Friday Morning Show to talk about Chronic Wasting Disease, or CWD. Kelsie is stationed at the chronic wasting disease surveillance area near Brainerd. She gives us an overview of the DNR’s response to CWD and gives us the location of where the surveillance areas are throughout Minnesota. She talks about how they are collecting samples this year during the pandemic. Kelsie gives us advice to plan ahead this season when making decisions for processing or transporting your deer. She also reminds non-hunters to report any deer they may suspect of having CWD.
