Sen. Smith on PPP Access for Rural Hospitals Act, Health Equity Task Force and Impeachment Hearings

Senator Tina Smith joins Heidi and John on the Thursday Morning Show for Making Sausage.  Senator Smith tell us about the bipartisan PPP Access for Rural Hospitals Act she has introduced along with Senator Roger Wicker. Many rural hospitals were not eligible for the Paycheck Protection Program forgivable loan because they are part of a larger network.   This act would allow smaller non-profit and rural hospitals access to the PPP program helping them with revenue loss and cost increases during the pandemic.

Senator Smith talks about the Biden-Harris administrations launch of the COVID-19 Health Equity Task Force to look at how COVID-19 has affected our communities of color, our rural communities and our elders.  She talks about how the Impeachment hearings were for her and how she will go forward after.  When asked how she is coping during these stressful times, and what she is doing to stay calm, she answers that she is spending time with her new grandson and working on a giant jigsaw puzzle to help keep her feet on the ground.
