The Ely Winter Festivalkicks off this weekend! It began in 1984 and has, over the years, morphed and changed into the nearly 2 week winter extravaganze that it is today. Snow sculptures, fat bike races, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, ice skating, sled dog rides, guided snowshoeing and classes available from beading bracelets to tanning animal hides, this event has something for everyone.
