Award wining and New York Times Bestselling author Sue Monk Kidd didn’t start writing fiction until her 40s, and shortly after, The Secret Life of Bees was published, and it spent more than 2 1/2 years on the New York Times bestseller list. So it really isn’t too late to start writing that novel. Sue went on to publish other books including a memoir with her daughter called,Traveling with Pomegranates, and her novel The Invention of Wings which was published in 2014.

Sue Monk Kidd is well known for incorporating spirituality into her work and she takes this to a new level in her latest and much anticipated novel The Book of Longings. In this book we are faced with the question: What if Jesus had a wife? “She would be the most silenced woman in history.“ Says Sue Monk Kidd and that’s why she wanted to create a story around this woman, Ana -- to give a voice to the feminine in religion.
