Chief Theater: Virtual Concert Series Beginning April 8th!

We're going to do a five concert series that will run every other Thursday starting April 8th...It's going to be a full-on concert production - sound, lighting, multiple camera angles. It's going to be a really professional production live on  Facebook and the YouTube livestream starting at 7:30pm. - Jordan Lindquist

Like all other venues,  The Chief Theater in downtown Bemidji has been essentially empty for the past year.  Thinking about how we move toward the new normal,  considering how phasing in to public spaces like theaters will look,  and realizing a lot of people are looking forward to live music, the Paul Bunyan Playhouse Board of Directors came up with an idea...  A livestream virtual concert series featuring Minnesota artists.  The series kicks off April 8th with Jillian Rae and will be followed up withCharlie ParrApril 22nd.  Every other Thursday between April 8th and June 3rd, music lovers can enjoy a live show broadcasting from theChief Theater stage to where ever they happen to be. Viewers can access concerts by hopping on the Chief Theater’s Facebookor YouTube page.

Board members Jordan Lindquist and Forrest Ross joined the morning show to discuss the new programming and give theatergoers an idea of what’s to come this summer inside the historic Chief Theater.

I'd like to see it as a part of a regrowth of downtown Bemidji that can really be a revitalization of the arts community and in the area, having an opportunity for people to perform and express their talents on the stage and in a way that's respectable. - Forrest Ross

What I would love to see is that building being used for something almost every night of the week. It's just such a great facility and I feel that it's been greatly underutilized over the past years and we're hoping to change that. - Jordan Lindquist
