In the Night of Memory by Linda LeGarde Grover

Linda LeGarde Grover joined us this week to talk about her latest novel "In The Night of Memory".  It's a family story set on a fictional northern MN reservation, much like where Linda grew up on the Bois Forte Reservation.  She gives the reader a real, up-close and personal look at the issues of missing and murdered indigenous women, foster care and the affects of boarding schools and forced relocation of the original inhabitants of northern MN.

Writer Heid Erdrich said, "Told through generations of relatives, In the Night of Memory mirrors history, from government removal of American Indian children to our current crisis of missing and murdered indigenous women in the United States and Canada. The intimate narrative voices help readers understand that what happened in the past never stops happening."
