A powerful traveling exhibit has made its way to the Bemidji State University campus. The interactive experience, Native Voices, will be hosted by select libraries across the country, one of those being the A.C. Clark Library at BSU. Exploring the relationships between health, individuals and community, the interactive experience educates through personal stories of native people that encourage understanding and awareness of native history, building cultural bridges in the process. Open to the public now and accessible thru February 14th on the third floor of the library, everyone is welcome to visit the BSU campus to check it out. DeeDee Narum was integral in getting this unique program to Bemidji. She stopped by the KBXE studio to talk about the impact of personal stories, the interconnectedness of individual and community health and why this exhibit is a good fit for Bemidji State University.
An official opening reception will take place Tuesday, January 15th from 4-6pm. In addition to the Native Voices exhibit, Devery Fairbanks will host a story telling event January 26th and an American Indian Health panel discusson will take place February 14th, both events will happen on the BSU campus.
