Alison Aune is an art professor at the University of Minnesota in Duluth.  She's also a painter who creates large scale, textile inspired pieces that weave narratives of scandinavian heritage and folklore throughout the work.  She will be speaking at the MacRostie Art Center at 6pm tonight (Wednesday, December 19th).  Her work will be on display at the MacRostie until December 28th.  In this Area Voices segment, Alison Aune discusses her work, her style evolution and what's in store for her.

Katie Carter started at Northern Community Radio in 2008 as Managing Editor of the station's grant-funded, online news experiment Northern Community Internet. Since 2016, she's produced Area Voices showcasing the arts, culture, and history stories of northern Minnesota. She's our local host of NPR's All Things Considered and CBC's As It Happens every weekday from 4-7pm.
