As Program Manager for First People's Fund, Jeremy Staab works to improve native communities by helping native artists realize their transformational potential and succeed in the business of art. With tools, educational opportunities and resources for native artists, First People's Fund is positively impacting the lives, the economy and the spirit of whole communities.
Staab will facilitate two days of professional development workshops for native artists this Wednesday and Thursday at the MacRostie Art Center in Grand Rapids. He spoke on the morning show about challenges specific to native artists and how the First People's Fund professional development trainings help them navigate through those challenges while creating thriving arts businesses.
Local artist Wesley May is a testament to the outcomes of these workshops. May completed the First People's Fund trainings and has gone on to grow his arts business exponentially while inspiring cultural connections within community thru his art. May will join Staab as a trainer at the Grand Rapids workshops.
