Many of us who live in northern MN feel a connection to the land. Whether our ancestors were always here or they came from other countries, the place where our people were before us has many stories. Will Weaver is the kind of author that creates stories out of these places.
Will Weaver’s writing has gained notices from The New Yorker to The Los Angeles Times. His works include Sweet Land (short story collection and film), Memory Boy (novel and opera), and his enduring novel of the Midwest, Red Earth, White Earth.
Monday at the Reif Center in Grand Rapids there is a performance of Sweetland the Musical.
