Baby turns one year old! And that baby, my friends, is your monthly dose of Spin That Ish from the KAXE Music Team.
One year in and the shenanigans continue as we discuss some of our favorite releases from August while meandering through deep questions like what do people call themselves while identifying where they're from? Grand Rapidians? Longvillians? Hibbingites? Bemidjians?
We talk about Margaret Glaspy's new album (and important things like what if she and Robert Glaspy made music together? What would they call themselves - Glaspy2?), Jim Blaha's new release as I Will Die in This Jean Jacket (while Dan talks about a one-pants roommate from days of yore, and shout out Jim's mom!), the wonderkid that is Billy Strings (also pretty sure we created a future music collab between Strings and Panopticon), alongside songs from Alabama Shakes, The Mary Wallopers, Ambré and Danielle Ponder.
Songs featured:
- I Will Die In This Jean Jacket - "Some New Day"
- Ambré - "The Art of Letting Go"
- Alabama Shakes - "Tea Time"
- The Mary Wallopers - "KitKat Club"
- Danielle Ponder - "Sun and Moon"
Albums featured:
- Margaret Glaspy - I Am Both
- I Will Die In This Jean Jacket - Hang From A Cloud
- Billy Strings - So Much For Goodbyes
