Live at the Historic Chief Theater with Davina & The Vagabonds!

KAXE/KBXE concert series, in collaboration with the Historic Chief Theater in downtown Bemidji, continues! These concerts are FREE, general admission only, first come first served (not a ticketed event).

Our next concert in the series is Friday, February 10th with Minnesota's finest jazz and blues musicians, Davina & The Vagabonds!

A band that has truly traveled the world spreading their music, Davina & The Vagabonds sound is described as a distillation of bluesy barroom baritone and bravado, graveyard jazz grooves, and noir-ish confessional lyricism backed by boisterous piano, guitar, and strings.

KAXE has had the pleasure of hosting the band before, and can't wait to welcome them back to Northern Minnesota. Led by the incredible vocals of Davina Sowers, the band captivates and engages the audience from their first moment on the stage.

Lobby opens at 6:30pm, House at 7pm, show starts at 7:30pm. Get there early as this is likely to fill up!

This series is made possible by the citizens of Minnesota, with funding from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.

There are no masking requirements at this time. You may always choose to wear a mask if it makes you feel safer, and it is now recommended that fully vaccinated individuals wear a mask indoors in public areas with substantial or high community transmission.

See you there!

The music director at KAXE since 2014, Kari (pronounced Car-ee) Hedlund reviews music on the daily. She also hosts New Music every Wednesday (2 and 10 p.m.) and Sunday (noon), along with the KAXE Morning Show on Thursdays.
