Interview with Adam Levy of Turn Turn Turn

Turn Turn Turn's new album, New Rays from an Old Sun

Multi-instrumentalist Adam Levy has been engrained in the Minnesota music scene for decades through his work with The Honeydogs, his solo album Naubinway and many various side projects. He's one of the members of Americana band, Turn Turn Turn, along with Savannah Smith and Barb Brynstad. The band is out with their second album, New Rays From An Old Sun which channels music from the 60s and 70s, capturing an immediate warmth and familiarity. Side Note: As I keep telling people, if you get behind harmonies, this one is FOR YOU.

Turn Turn Turn had just completed their sold-out album release show at the Dakota Jazz Club when I had the chance to catch up with Adam. We talk about how this album is different than their first (Can't Go Back), writing with Smith & Brynstad, his favorite song on the release, and being a human navigating this new world.

Kari (CAR-ee) is originally from South Dakota … a state often referred to as the land of infinite variety. Along with her trademark lipstick and husky voice … Kari also raises a family … and Baguettes when time permits
