New Manufacturing Company Lake Shirts is Looking for Workers for Expansion in Bigfork

We have regular conversations about the business and economics of northern Minnesota. Tamara Lowney is the Executive Director of IEDC - Itasca Economic Development Corporation. She called yesterday with the news that a MN Manufacturer was interested in expanding in Bigfork. Why Bigfork we asked?

At the end of 2020, Montreal based e2ip Technologies closed its Bigfork location for good.

The company was one of the largest private businesses operating in the city with a population of less than 500.

The closure impacted 60 employees.

And that's why LakeShirts - a Detroit Lakes, MN based manufacturer of t-shirts, sweatshirts, stickers and more. Community meetings are set up for Thursday August 19th at the Bigfork City Hall form 11-1pm and 3-6pm. Their work environment is casual and you are welcome to bring your dog.

For more than two decades, Heidi Holtan has helped shape the sound of KAXE. Since joining the station in 2002 as a volunteer music programmer, she has worn many hats including the weekly book program, Realgoodwords, hosting the Morning Show, creation and host of the weekly call-in program Between You and Me, serving as Outreach Producer. Program Director, News Director and currently Director of Content and Public Affairs.
