Kate Miller-Heidke On Mountain Stage

Platinum selling Australian artist Kate Miller-Heidke makes her first appearance on Mountain Stage, alongside her husband Keir Nuttall on guitar and backing vocals. They perform three songs from 2008's Curiouser, as well as her explicit, tongue-in-cheek ode to a past lover's reemergence on a social network, "Are you F*cking Kidding Me?". ("If you wonder why we don't do the show live anymore, perhaps you just found out," host Larry Groce acknowledges.) Her operatic training is prevalent, along with her knack for hook writing, as in her regretful tale, "Caught in the Crowd."

Following Miller-Heidke are Julie Adams and the Mountain Stage Band performing a song by Ricky Lee Jones, written by Jones' father, "The Moon is Made of Gold."

This Mountain Stage performance was originally published on July 6, 2010.
