Das Bird

Every spring along the Platte River in Central Nebraska, tens of thousands of migratory birds -- cranes, geese, ducks, more than 300 species -- stop to rest and feed for a few weeks before continuing north. The Platte River Valley is transformed -- a birdwatcher's paradise! Keith Ludden of Nebraska Public Radio, sent All Things Considered an audio postcard.
