Phenology Report: February 4, 2020

Taking time to contemplate what is happening in nature is one of the many aspects of Northern Community Radio that sets us apart from any other radio station.  Each day we bring you a phenology note where our resident phenologist John Latimer shares a note from his journals of more than 35 years of climate and nature data collection.  Each Tuesday we dig even deeper with the weekly Phenology Report.  Today, John discussed several topics including increasing hours of sunshine (yay!), snow fleas, tussock moths, and groundhog day.  In a surprise twist, he even went on a bit of a tangent regarding palindromes!  Check it all out by clicking on the segment!

What are you seeing outside? Let us know by emailing John or calling a message into our talkback line, 218-999-9876.

Thanks to Laura Zimmerman for snapping the pic of sinking snow accompanying this post!  She heard John and Harry talking about it on the morning show today and shared this pic on our KAXE-KBXE Season Watch Facebook Page
