The Minnesota Department of Transportation is taking comment on the final draft of the State Rail Plan, the agency announced Friday, Oct. 17.
The plan shapes Minnesota’s rail infrastructure and investments over the next 20 years.
Feedback from businesses and residents will be used to guide final updates on the plan.
"The plan describes the importance of railroads to Minnesota’s economy, the state of the current rail system and trends, and identifies key rail investments that better support the transportation of goods, services and people throughout Minnesota," MnDOT said in a news release.
"The plan guides and supports MnDOT’s efforts to integrate rail with all modes of transportation to effectively move Minnesota."
The plan can be reviewed online or in person at MnDOT's Duluth, Bemidji, Baxter and Detroit Lakes offices.
