DULUTH — St. Louis County waived late fees for property taxes paid for or postmarked by Tuesday, Oct. 17, after its online payment service failed Monday.
Monday was the the second half of the year deadline for those who pay property taxes directly to the county.
The county reported Paymentus, the company that provides the service by contract, is aware of the problem and working to resolve the issue. As of Monday afternoon, there was no estimated completion time. But Monday night, the county reported on its website the issue was resolved.
The county auditor said residents may continue to check back to pay online, or otherwise are encouraged to mail a check or pay in person.
Payments can be made in person at the St. Louis County Courthouse in Duluth, the Auditor's Service Center at the Miller Hill Mall, or the Government Services Center in Virginia.
