People who have followed Nevis High School senior Jade Rypkema’s track and cross country running career were thrilled, but probably not surprised, when she finished first in a field of 158 runners in the Class A state cross country meet earlier this month in Northfield.
Jade finished the hilly, five kilometer course five seconds ahead of last year’s champion Amanda Overgaaw. Last Spring, as a junior, Jade also finished first in the 16-hundred and 32-hundred meter races in the state track meet.
Jade slowed down enough last week (recently) to let Scott Hall catch up to her for this interview.
