Border News Roundup: MPCA Changes, School District Scam, Cold Snap and Ely Sled Dog Races
Marshall Helmberger is editor and publisher of the Timberjay newspaper, he joins Heidi each Friday for Border News Roundup. This week he talks about the proposal made by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency to change clean water rules and classifications. While this might ease the burden with the mining industry, agricultural processers, and the Coalition of Greater Minnesota Cities, at what cost would that be to the water quality in Minnesota. Public comment period on the proposal runs through February 24th.
In other news from NE Minnesota a scammer posing as the Superintendent of the St. Louis School District used a fraudulent email to obtain the W-2 forms of 677 district employees, the recent cold snap and limited snow cover caused problems with water lines and the WolfTrack Classic Sled Dog Race in Ely begins this Sunday.
