Retired Farmer Reflects on 17 Years Running a 20-Acre CSA Farm

Angela Tedesco is a farmer who has recently retired after 17 years of running one of the first community supported agriculture farms in central Iowa near Des Moines. She’s chonicled her experience in a book called Finding Turtle Farm. Angela writes about this immense undertaking which includes her experience growing up on a family farm, studying chemistry and horticulture, ordering seeds, tending greenhouses, surviving floods and a personal health crisis. She tells a story of transforming a piece of land and the life within it. Finding Turtle Farm also includes practical information about harvesting and preserving food, and recipes and tips on how to best make use of the produce in your CSA box.
