Eliza Gilkyson: Songs that Touch History

Eliza Gilkyson's latest studio album, Paradise Hotel, touches on faith, politics, and a little bit of family history.

The record even includes "Jedidiah 1777" -- a tune based on letters written by her ancestor, Brig. Gen. Jedidiah Huntington, who fought in the Revolutionary War with George Washington.

Coming from a long line of gifted musicians, Gilkyson’s lyrical intelligence and deceptively plain approach have led to her being compared to singers from Bob Dylan to Lucinda Williams.
