Itasca Community College's Provost Bart Johnson and Enrollment Services Director Bill Marshall joined Heidi and John to talk about planning and preparing for students at ICC in a few weeks. 

Educators have a lot of planning and stress on them during this pandemic of COVID-19. 

Bart Johnson is provost at Itasca Community College.  He told us about the plans and work going into planning for a future that is unknown.  We also heard about how his family and farm are faring right now. 

ICC provost Bart Johnson joined us today to talk about the community college system and how they adapt to a changing workforce.  It's the first of a series on the impact and future of the community college system in Minnesota.

The Grand Rapids Human Rights Commission continues their conversation on immigration with #unitecloud - a nonprofit in Grand Rapids that began as a social media movement to resolve tensions and restore dignity to all people in the St. Cloud area.

Once a year NCROC opens its doors to visitors to find out about all their research and work.  This year includes things like a Bog Boardwalk Tour, Wild Rice Paddies Tour, Cattle Research, Pollinator Studies, Community Gardens and a whole lot more.  It's free to the public and fun for all ages - including Farmer Ed's Petting Zoo.  Boreal Brewers will have free brew samples, Culver's will provide samples of custard and Duke Skorich BBQ will be selling food.

This week Itasca Community College provost Bart Johnson introduced us to the new MN State System of Colleges and Universities Chancellor Devinder Malhotra.  He talked about the need for a "major rethink".

This morning we talked education with Itasca Community College provost Bart Johnson.... including the partnership with IASC - Itasca Area Schools Collaborative.  Bart also talked with us about employment trends and working with younger students to get experiential learning in job settings.

On Thursday March 22nd there's a conference open to the general public at Itasca Community College.  It's from 9-3 and it's called "Navigating Information in a Post-Truth Era". 

Earlier this week we talked with one of the presenters, Julie Ethan from Better Angels - a nonprofit in the Twin Cities that has a mission to depolarize America.

Friday October 20th  the Itasca DFL party and SAGE- Itasca Community College's Sex and Gender Equity group sponsored a DFL governor candidate forum.  The general public were welcome and overall the evening was well planned with fair, reasoned questions by moderator Aaron Brown
