On August 5th of 2019 Barbara McDonald became the 13th president of The College of St. Scholastica.  With a background in leadership and higher education administration and a long career with the MN State Colleges and Universities System including North Hennepin Community College Itasca Community College and Rainy River Community College in International Falls.

Today we called and woke up hometown goalie star Hunter Shepherd from the UMD Bulldogs.  The Bulldogs are the defending national champions and are in the NCAA semi-fianls. Hunter is a junior at UMD from Cohasset and he started in all 40 games this year with a 27-11-2 record with an amazing 1.82 GAA.  The next game is April 11th at 4pm against the Providence Friars.

Today we talked with University of MN student Meg Foster.  She's speaking today at Central Lakes College about her study abroad to Russia where she did research on the first woman in space.  Her talk at noon today at the Chalberg Theater is "Soviet Space Race Propaganda:  The Role of Women in Space and Science".  If you can't make the free event, you can watch it on Central Lakes College's youtube channel

Itasca Community College provost Bart Johnson was back with us today - to introcduce us to Jenny Tyler and Neesha Moore, students at Deer River High School who particapated in Education Career Pathways.  They spent last fall learning what the career of teacher was like, and spending time student teaching.

This week Itasca Community College provost Bart Johnson introduced us to the new MN State System of Colleges and Universities Chancellor Devinder Malhotra.  He talked about the need for a "major rethink".

This morning we talked education with Itasca Community College provost Bart Johnson.... including the partnership with IASC - Itasca Area Schools Collaborative.  Bart also talked with us about employment trends and working with younger students to get experiential learning in job settings.
