Since March, all of us in Minnesota have had a different life. All of us in the world are figuring out how to live in a pandemic.

Politics have divided not just our small towns and families, but the Minnesota Legislature and the executive branch. Governor Walz is one of 49 governors around our nation that still hold executive power. During the pandemic, along with President Trump.

This week Walker Orenstein joined us to talk about unemployment insurance.  His latest article is "What Workers Need To Know About Unemployment Benefits During the COVID-19 Emergency". 

Gov. Tim Walz signed an executive order on Monday to tweak Minnesota’s unemployment insurance program in an effort to help people struggling with the closure of schools and businesses because of the novel coronavirus.

A couple of weeks ago I went to the movie Bombshell with Laura Connelly and Sarah Bignall.  The movie is about the women at Fox News who set out to expose CEO Roger Ailes for sexual harassment.  It was well done and brought up a lot of conversation after the movie about how women are treated in society and especially at work.  Check out our other Strong Women conversations and coming soon is a focus group wrap up from our Brainerd listening session "Speak Up Lady:  Objections to Objectification".  Also coming


Today we talked with Hollis Emery - Program Director & Youth & Individual Placement Programs with Conservation Corps of Minnesota and Iowa.  She told us about the opportunites for 18-25 year olds as well as students age 15-18.
