I live within walking distance of Minneapolis Police Precinct.

I have been onsite peacefully protesting everyday this week. I have been shot at with rubber bullets, tear gassed, hit with percussion bombs and watched people hit with “soft” bullets (see below). I’ve seen the police advance on citizens using violence and intimidation.

We're all in this together and that was evident by the emails, texts, messages and phone calls we received from listeners this week... Thank you, thank you, thank you for reaching out to us!  We LOVE serving you! Keep touching base!

Here are some of the messages that came our way this week:

What do buildings mean to a town?  What does the current model of large parking lots, big box stores, few trees and large signs mean to the residents of a town?

Aaron Brown and Chuck Marohn continue the Strong Towns - the book - conversation here.  What makes your town special?  How do we plan growth in small towns now compared to before WWII?  Do things that seem small - sidewalks, trees, parks matter to where we live?

Last week we talked with one of our members (you know the drill:  we pulled up a chair to one of our member's kitchen tables and we got to know them a little bit better) from north of Nashwauk.

I knew it would be fun when I saw the look on John Bauer's face when he heard the word "kefir".  Kim was so much fun, we talked about the bionic woman, sign language interpreting, and Kim's band Hobo Revival
