Now, 10 years later, Tessman has released a new single, “Hero Now Crowned,” celebrating everyone who has overcome hardships in their life, whatever they may be.

"Going through breast cancer was awful and celebrating my 10-year anniversary of being cancer-free was definitely something I was super proud of,” explained Tessman when she joined Centerstage Minnesota on Friday, April 7.

Tessman is playing a show at Rapids Brewing Co. in Grand Rapids Friday night and accompanying her will be her oldest son, Louis. Asked about playing the new song with him, after writing the story for him and her other son Max, Tessman had another reason to be proud. “My mama heart is just bursting all the time when I’m on stage with Louis,” she said.
